comment Consumer vs creator, what are the differences?
@cestarian: I am already referring to hardware designers and programmers! yes I know it is conceited and shortsighted, i didn't argue with that but ... there are many populations or social groups (or the majority or the culture, where i come from) that think this way.

@cestarian: this is actually a really good question. Perhaps could be organized better...? Either way, I do get your questions intent and would be interested to know any info on it. From observation, consuming is usually more fun and desirable. Most people would rather have the goodies - cell phones, video games, movies, than work to make them. If one is financially well off, it is easier to just indulge in others work or creativity. For example, where I come from, most people consider engineering beneath them...but drive the nice cars and use the latest technology.

comment Does deep, slow breathing increase mental performance?
@Kyth'Py1k: maybe see if it adds more oxygen to the blood and brain, then see if more oxygen to the blood and brain increase mental performance...? Also, you need to define mental performance; i.e. staying calm in stressful situations vs. creativity levels...

very interesting...sounds like the only difference is that yours was achieved from the goal of reaching that state vs. random timing.

comment When can we say that machines are conscious?
its all clever programming at this point with a CPU and memory. Perhaps if the machine is made completely out of a living plant or from the brain of a human (who past away)?

comment Body Language: Why do we give each other the grumpy/frowning fake smile?
@olli: Yes, I do it also, and then I say to myself "where did I pick this up from" ?! I started doing it when I entered "adulthood" after college when working in the corporate world. I think I just picked it up from others around me. Maybe it reflects all the stress of the modern days professional man in a complicated contradictory world?
