I got my first degree as a musician (jazz guitar) and returned to school a couple of years ago as a psychology major. As of now I am a graduate student. I have a strong interest in methodology and statistics.

In my bachelor thesis I compared the Variability Effect from Cognitive Load Theory with the phenomenon of Interleaved Learning from a connectionist point of view. Currently I am trying to build on this work. I am working on a proposal of how hierarchically structured learning material can be analysed to make predictions about the order in which the underlying concepts might be distinguished from another.

Are you refering to the psychological concept of resilience as used e.g. in this article?

comment Why do teenagers take the internet and cyberbullying so seriously?
@Skpippy I'm not Fischer, either;-) But in general I would say that it's not so much about links, but rather about a reference. But maybe that's what you meant, anyway. In this case, never mind!

comment Why does a clock counting down generate more pressure than a clock counting up?
Is it really the case that counting down creates more pressure? Is there any evidence?

What about LTD (Long Term Depression)? Shouldn't it be part of the picture, too?

Skippy: Thanks for adding the reference. Not only do I personally find it interesting, but I think your post is much more usefull now. I would also like to thank @Chuck Sherrington, because he managed to express the concerns that I had as well in a very good and constructive way.
