The price anchoring effect (even on arbitrary numbers like last digits of your ID) may be interesting for such a proposal - see a experiment description at danariely.com/the-books/… - you might be able to do something similar in the class.

comment Do people estimate combined probabilities differently to uncombined ones?
A related issue is the well known phenomenon (I believe I read it in Kahneman/Tversky but it might be earlier) where adding a plausible-seeming extra condition to a combined probability makes people to perceive as more likely despite being less likely. The classic example was "USA breaking diplomatic relations with USSR" perceived by experts as less likely than "USSR invading Poland and USA breaking diplomatic relations with USSR" - but the second is clearly a subset of the first one.

comment What exactly is meant when it is said that only you can make yourself happy?
"No one would love someone that doesn't make him happy" - that statement seems to contradict reality; there are many people in unhappy unrequited love; and there are many people who love someone despite being the victim in an abusive relationship. There are situations exactly like your own example, loving someone who is deliberately lowering your self esteem.

comment Does a person's brain still contain a record of daily events?
Do note that 'the complete memory' is a very dangerous term; the act of remembering often creates details that didn't exist in memory by simply making them up, and this process is very open to suggestion from outside sources. Furthermore, if you think about these details, they will get stored in memory, and it may be impossible to ever find out if those details were in the original event, or you imagined/'remembered' them afterwards, they'll feel exactly as real.
