comment Is there a range in time on which the mind detects correlation between events?
@ChuckSherrington Conditioning in learning would also determine the effects that I'm describing, so I see it as useful as well. Would you mind to complement waldog's answer with your own?

@ChuckSherrington Basically, I couldn't find anything on the subject, mainly because I do not know which is the proper technical term for this perception characteristic. Looking for terms always brings up results and studies on unrelated contexts.

comment Is it a good idea to play an instrument while studying? If so, what are the benefits?
How does this relate to common non-distracting behaviors one does while doing something? (ex. playing with a pen in a meeting, playing with the phone cable, etc.) I've heard theories (nothing serious that I know to back me up) that certain people actually need those to concentrate better on the primary tasks.

comment Are there any cognitive test (or test suites) available on the iPad?
My guess is that any web-based test is also suitable for iPads and iPhones, right? (Well, with the exception of flash-based ones.)

@ArtemKaznatcheev The first and second chapters give you a quick glance on the resourceful mind idea, but chapters 6 and on dwell a little more on the why and that's where evolution starts taking its place.

@ArtemKaznatcheev There is! Here you can find a online draft that Minsky published: web.media.mit.edu/~minsky
