I am a Moderator Pro Tempore for this site. That means I do things like handling flags, approving/rejecting edits, and generally help the community in any way I can. I'm here to help! If you have a question, I try to stay in our chat room almost all the time, even if I'm not at my computer. To get my attention, just post a message in chat with @Josh in it, and I'll respond as soon as I can.

I can also be reached from my website or via email at cogsci -at- josh -dot- gitlin -dot- name. If you have an any issues please don't hesitate to contact me.

I am not actually a Cognitive Scientist. I am Chief Technology Officer and the senior software developer at Digital Fruition, LLC. I am an avid user of Stack Exchange sites and fascinated by the workings of the mysterious and complex computer we call the human mind.

I believe firmly in this community and try to do do everything I can to help it grow! I am frequently on Meta where we discuss issues about this site. I'm very approachable. If you have a question or an issue, find me in chat or @ me on one of my posts. While I may not be the most knowledgable user about Cognitive Sciences on our site, I know a lot about Stack Exchange!

comment Math or Physics: Which is the more relevant background to enter Cognitive Sciences and Psychology?
Sorry Aakash, this question isn't really a good fit for our Q&A format. We expect questions to have a single correct answer, and this is more of an opinion question. Looks like you already got a lot of useful advice before I saw the question though, so hopefully that helps you!

This is actually a physics question I believe. All the visible colors of light can be represented by combinations of red, green, and blue. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RGB_color_model and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Additive_primaries#Additive_primaries

I agree with Chuck. You're asking good questions guest43434, but let's give some time for the site to answer the ones you asked before asking more :-) Thanks for your understanding and participation!

comment Short term time perception affect long term time perception?
It seems that many mental disorders are fundamentally disorders in time perception -- This statement feels subjective and out of place to me. Is it important to the question or can it be removed?

@ChuckSherrington I personally agree, but wanted to see how the community receives it. It had more than a few upvotes when I converted it.

comment What is a good textbook for an undergrad Cognitive Neuroscience course?
I have converted this question to a Community Wiki question as there is no single correct answer to it. I can also suggest asking for recommendations in chat, as that format is well suited to open-ended discussions.
