Cognitive maps represent mental models which have connections between concepts that represent entities, goals. Ontologies represent vocabularies for knowledge representation. It explains the semantics and the meaning. Are they both tools for knowledge representation? As far as my understanding goes, they do not have any processing capability like Neural Networks.

Can somebody please explain the difference and similarity between cognitive map, semantic network and ontology? Thank you
