Cognitive Sciences Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for practitioners, researchers, and students in cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, and psychiatry. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am seeking the best forums or web documents with examples of how to analyze data from physiological measurements acquired by a set of MP150 modules during a cognitive psychology experiment for which I had developed the application that presented auditory stimuli and questionnaires. Specifically, which analyses should be done on which channels to answer what questions?

The team of psychologists have been going over the literature, but I need more technical information if I am to help them.

Interested in sources (articles? tutorials? workshops?) for
-When it comes to which analysis should be done how, for comparing the subjects' moods during a baseline measurement and a measurement taken while listening to happy/neutral/sad music pieces
-Step-by-step explanations (most journal articles provide minimal details about this)

I am familiar with the mathematics of analyses; I am only interested in why to do what.

Can you be more specific? What kind of data are you measuring (i.e. a time series of field potentials or intracellular data)? What part of the analysis do you need help with (i.e. coding, mathematics, interpretation?) As it stands, this is a very broad question. –  Keegan Keplinger Jan 24 '14 at 19:23

+1 for specificity, but this doesn't have to be a broader question than, "Forums/documents on this topic plz!" What that topic is remains unclear to me, but I'm not flagging the question as unclear, because I'm not sure I couldn't figure out the intended meaning with a fairly quick Google search. I probably should try, but...you know. –  Nick Stauner Jan 25 '14 at 1:24

When it comes to which analysis should be done how, for comparing the subjects' moods during a baseline measurement and a measurement taken while listening to happy/neutral/sad music pieces, the psychologists have nothing more than guesswork to rely on. I am seeking more step-by-step explanations that are not in most articles, which simply mention that they made physiological measurements. Links to explanatory articles, tutorials or upcoming workshops in the U.S. would also help. I am familiar with the mathematics of analyses; I am only interested in why to do what. –  Hurol Aslan Jan 27 '14 at 13:36

I would take the comment above, and add to the question text where it is more likely to be read. –  rmayer06 Mar 15 '14 at 14:08
